UPPER DECK SPORTS TRADING CARD SALE BRINGS IN OVER $500,000

When it comes to recent Goldin Auctions trading card sales, some basketball trading cards for sale and soccer trading cards recently stole the show. During a recent Premium Sports Card and Memorabilia Auction, a 2002-03 Upper Deck Logomania Kobe Bryant 1/1 autograph trading card sold for $555,960. This broke records as the second-highest price ever paid for a card featuring the late Hall of Famer.

In case you missed it, there was more than just basketball cards for sale at the Premium Sports Card and Memorabilia Auction. There were plenty of other trading cards for sale that went for high prices as well. Overall, the two-day auction grossed more than $21 million in trading card sales. Other noteworthy sales include a 1/1 2019 Topps Chrome Bundesliga Superfractor of Erling Haaland that sold for $442,800. Next up, a PSA 10 2004 Mega Cracks Lionel Messi rookie card for sale went for $344,400. This broke records for a card featuring the soccer legend. Taking a look at female sports cards for sale, a rookie card of U.S. soccer legend Mia Hamm went for $34,440. This marked the most expensive female athlete trading card ever sold.

Sports trading card sales have certainly evolved over the years. For instance, buying a 24-pack box of 1961-62 Fleer basketball cards at the time it was released would have cost just $1.20. Goldin offered a BBCE-inspected box and investors were aggressive in bidding for the box containing Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, and Jerry West rookie cards, among many others. In the end, the box sold for a record $4461,250.
